This Fall, the Hague University of Applied Sciences is offering a brand-new bachelor’s programme on Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. In recognition of this, we are hosting a Pie & AI event on breaking into the exciting, booming fields of data science and AI. Our two guest speakers will give you valuable tips and advice on entering this field and will share their experiences.

Speaker 1: Andreea Moga (LinkedIn) – How to break into Data & AI career space
The amount of Data & AI knowledge available on the Internet can get learners overwhelmed when it comes about preparing to land a job in the field. With my talk I will give a reality check on what is going on right now on the job market, the future trends of Data Science roles in the Metaverse and why creating a lifelong learning habit and a growth mindset is the key to success in this field.
Speaker 2: Eva van Rooijen (LinkedIn) – An interactive presentation on the two phases of a data science project
Eva is a data-geek with a background in statistics and economics. She currently teaches Data Visualization courses and works on Data Literacy projects. She believes that without developing communication skills, data scientist won’t be able to share the valuable insights they retrieve from data. Through an interactive presentation, we will discuss the design choices that data scientists make in their daily work. We focus on the impact of Data Science & AI on our everyday life and the role data scientists play in this data-driven society.
